What is Long Term Care?
Long Term Care is the description of a bundle of insurance services which can include medical, nursing, custodial, social, and community components designed to help people who have disabilities or chronic care needs,including dementia.
Longer Term Care Insurance Services may be provided in the person’s home, in the community, in assisted living facilities or in nursing homes.Simply put, this is the kind of insurance that is designed to pay for some or all of the costs of long term care including for chronically ill, disabled or developmentally disabled people, whether at home (outpatient) or inpatient(nursing home etc).
Long-Term Care services are perceived as being principally for senior citizens; however they can be for anyone with disabilities,handicaps or chronic illnesses or disorders that require assisted living. Further more, this is a service that includes a range of health and social services provided under the supervision of medical professionals and can assist even with everyday activities such as eating,bathing and dressing which a person may not be able to perform by themselves because of their disabilities other medical conditions.
Depending upon individual circumstances and the extent of the person’s disability, long term care is provided at home, nursing homes or other assisted living facilities.
